Adryan rants about: Latter-day Saints (Mormons)

Under a read more for religious reasons (I’m not ripping on them btw) (this was made for personal reasons because so many people say that they’re all brainwashed into the religion and don’t have a choice but I do, and I’m kinda really into the religion)

Okay, so lately I’ve been studying the Church of [Jesus Christ of] Latter-day Saints. And first off, I have a lot of Mormon friends. And honestly, they are like, the best people. And one of my cousins or uncles or something was a Mormon and he got married then got divorced because he turned out to be gay and one of my aunt’s dads was like, a high power in the Church or something idk. But, my entire family’s just saying to me, “don’t join the Church”, “they’re horrible people”, “they’re really weird”, etc. But like I said: they’re like, the nicest people. And, there’s a chance that I will join the church and there’s a chance that I might not idk it’s my decision anyways.

Another thing, is that I’m seeing a whole bunch of people calling them a religious cult and seriously, it confuses me. They’re just regular people who are trying to get to Heaven. Sure, they give money to the Church, but that’s to help pay for more Churches and Temples and Missionary Training Centers. They’re not making “offerings” to God like people believe. Seriously. And, yes, I do know about their little “spy” group. But, I’m quite sure that there are other religions that have one but they just didn’t openly admit that they had one. They’re just trying to protect their church.

And then people go on to say that the Book of Mormon contradicts the Bible. What? The Book of Mormon, to them, is an extension to the Bible. To them, it’s the full testament to Jesus Christ.

And honestly, the non-fundamentalist Mormons don’t try to pry their religion onto people. Most believe that religion is a sacred thing that you believe in personally.

Sure, they have some wacky beliefs, but so does pretty much every other religion. To another religion, other religions will always seem a bit wacky. But it’s what you believe in.
